About My Work.

I create illustrative paintings around the themes of safety and insecurity, hopefulness and disappointment and I paint mostly in acrylic on canvas.   My work interrogates what it means to shore oneself up, excavating harsh truths about who or what we need to find calm amidst chaos in one way or another.    Often my paintings reference nature, story, home and family life in a jumbled attempt to question the constant search for comfort both in our bodies and our environments and is borne from my own struggle with what it means to feel ok in a body that is often in pain and in a landscapes which promises hope just a little further down the path…
