Lisa MacDonald lives in Jersey, Channel Islands
a small island near France for those of you who have never been.
She is a visual contemporary artist, married to Simon and has four children, now grown...some with children of their own.
Lisa's journey as a painter and visual artist in a small community highlights a 'multi-pronged' approach to creativity. There's only so many exhibitions you can have in a year!
So rather than adhere to a singular path, she embraces a patchwork of skills, including illustration craft, and 3D and puppet making, alongside teaching drawing and painting.
Lisa is the illustrator and writer of the children's book 'This Garden is Magic' which can be bought on amazon and runs the illustration homeware business MollyMacliving.
"I knew that I was an artist from an early age" she reflects, "but I also knew I had to be adaptable if I wanted to make a living in Jersey with four children to raise."
This versatility has been allowed to flourish in a world that often favours more focus of one discipline. It has led to a multifaceted artistic career.
"It's easier to manage now I am older Basically I paint whenever I can and I teach partly for an income and also because I love teaching others to tap into their creativity it's a joy.
